Currently over 60 people from the village are involved in some way.  

Isn't this work the Council's job?

Councils made a big mistake when they started to call us "customers".  We are not customers.  We are residents, citizens, individuals.  We cannot choose to not use their services or not pay them.
The only way the Council could do all the works we all want doing , to the standard we want them doing to, would be to hugely increase what they charge us.  Anybody fancy that?
Langley Park is our village.  Improving it in the way we want is our job - besides, we can do it quicker, and possibly better (but don't tell the Council I said that - they have been really good to us so far!)

How is We Are Langley Park funded?

Everything that has been done to date has been voluntary.

In July 2010 we received 2 grants totalling £1,400 which will buy equipment, insurance and training.

Is We Are Langley Park a registered charity?

Nope!  If anyone fancies running it as a charity please get in touch.
The priority for We Are Langley Park is to be the simplest mechanism possible to allow people to get on and do what they want to do to improve the village.
All accounts will be audited annually.
Income and Expenditure will be published as it happens to ensure transparent financial probity is maintained and assured.

Why should I join We Are Langley Park? 

There are a few reasons:

• You can use the group's equipment
  We currently have litter pickers, bag hoops and black bags, donated by DCC StreetScene and a Petrol Lawn Mower funded by the Area Action Partnership.
• You can access other members' expertise and experience.
• You can be covered by the group's public liability insurance.
  - Necessary to do works on public land.
• You can tell others what you are doing or planning.
• You can meet, share ideas with, and encourage, like-minded people. 
• You can help project manage large scale works.
• The more members we have, the easier it will be to get funding.
• You are Langley Park!

Will I have to do physical work?  I am old, you know.

Not at all.  Your expertise, ideas, intelligence, contacts and encouragement are just as useful as litter picking, painting and bramble clearing.
